Ciba acquires further consultancy expertise
Ciba Specialty Chemicals has broadened its regulatory consulting services with the acquisition of Cantox Health Sciences International, a privately owned specialist in the development of scientific and strategic regulatory plans.

Cantox" 60-strong staff is focused on the pharmaceuticals and healthcare; chemicals; biotech and consumer products industries.
The acquisition complements Ciba's current reg-latory consultancy offering, which includes analytical and laboratory service support for developing and implementing worldwide regulatory strategies. The company's service offering covers neat chemicals, polymers and end-use articles for commercialisation in domestic and international markets.

Ciba is active in more than 120 countries worldwide and generated sales of CHF7.4bn in 2005. Cantox will continue to operate under its own name.
