Clariant to refocus its molecules business
Clariant has reorganised its life science molecules business into two global sectors: pharmaceuticals and agrochemicals. Also included in the business are two organisations that provide support for small and intermediate scale production requirements: Lancaster, a leading chemical catalogue business; and the Clariant Molecule Synthesis Centre (MSC), a service business that provides custom synthesis in the 5-200kg range.
According to David Maddox, head of Clariant Life Science Molecules, the reorganisation is consistent with a long-term goal of providing a greater level of service to custom synthesis customers. 'This new organisation will allow better focus on the unique needs of pharmaceutical customers as well as more targeted investment in the infrastructure, r&d and new technologies that will support the new directions of the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries,' he said.
