Containment booth for vaccine materials
Air containment specialist MAT has installed a powder containment booth at GlaxoSmithKline in Beckenham. The 2m wide booth is used for the accurate weighing of potentially hazardous material used in vaccine production.
A constant inflow of air is then maintained across the front of the booth to prevent the escape of any material, and high-grade HEPA filters ensure the removal of particulate matter before returning clean air to the laboratory. An LCD on the inside of the booth gives a digital readout of inflow velocity, which can be adjusted to suit a variety of operating procedures.
