CPhI Korea to open against forecast of market value of $24.3bn by 2020

Event to facilitate regional growth alongside South Korean government $8.9bn commitment to drug development by 2020

CPhI Korea 2014 will take place on 2–3 September 2014 at the COEX in Seoul, South Korea. Co-organised by the Korean Pharmaceutical Traders Association and leading events organiser UBM Live, the event will co-locate with ICSE, creating a comprehensive platform for pharmaceutical supply chain sourcing and partnerships.

The value of the South Korean pharmaceutical market is expected to reach US$24.3bn in 2020 according to a MarketOptimizer.com report. Further solidifying South Korea as one of the largest pharmaceutical markets in Asia, the country’s “Pharma 2020 vision” commits $8.9bn to drug development by 2020. Ideally located, CPhI Korea will serve as a central hub for the region, granting key delegates and industry leaders from Japan, China, India and Hong Kong access to this growing market.

Throughout the two-day event, CPhI Korea and ICSE will provide pharma manufacturers access to global suppliers across different aspects of the pharma supply chain, such as: raw materials, APIs and contracting services. Running alongside the exhibition, high-level conference programmes will offer valuable insights from key government, industry and academic opinion leaders. The agenda is set to include topics such as strategies for entering or expanding business in the growing Korean pharma market, and drug registration in the Korean market.

Lighting up the Chinese pharmaceutical dream

Meanwhile, CPhI, ICSE & BioPh China 2014 and P-MEC, InnoPack & LABWorld China 2014, held on 26–28 June hosted by UBM Live and CCCMHPIE and co-organised by UBM Sinoexpo set new records for 2014. The entire 17 halls in SNIEC (Shanghai New International Expo Centre) were used in the 2014 event, gathering a one-stop purchasing platform for the whole industry chain include APIs, biopharmaceuticals, dosage, pharmaceutical machinery, packaging equipment & material, food ingredients & machinery, nutraceutical & health products. The 12 halls for pharma industry attracted 2,540 exhibitors on one site, while the total number of visits reached 63,331 in the 3-day show.

A total of six high-end forums, 10 industry conferences and 48 technical seminars were held onsite, bringing together 166 experts and more than 2,000 professional attendees. The 2014 Pharmaceutical R&D Innovation and Outsourcing Management Conference and China BioPh Summit 2014 attracted hundreds of attendees. Experts also exchange their ideas with participants in 2014 P-MEC Summit China, China Packaging Innovation and Management Conference and GMP Clean Technology Forum.

Fifteen-year development and new challenge

CPhI, ICSE & BioPh China 2015, together with P-MEC, InnoPack & LABWorld China 2015 will enjoy their 15-year celebration in 2015. The event will bring larger scale, more business opportunities and better service to all industry participants on 24–26 June, 2015 at Shanghai New International Expo Centre.
