DeHavilland, a London-based research organisation, has launched an online data gathering service for the pharmaceutical industry.

DeHavilland Pharma, a real time service, is dedicated to reporting political and legislative developments relevant to the pharmaceutical sector. Using its team of 40 researchers, DeHavilland's analytical reportage extends from parliamentary proceedings and select committees to monitoring lobby activity and political meetings outside Westminster.

"A relevant parliamentary questions session can reveal Government investment intentions around certain pharmaceutical research, or highlight potential pressure on Government to outlaw certain drugs," said Patrick Angell, md of DeHavilland. "Quick access to the details can enable pharmaceutical managers to act swiftly in order to benefit from a potential new revenue opportunity, or make moves to avoid revenue losses."

The new service combines a website with a powerful search engine and intuitive navigation to enable users to find key information quickly and easily. It includes a comprehensive database showing the interests of political figures, their activity track record and contact details. Users will also be alerted to key political and lobbying events through the service's forward events planning feature.

The company says DeHavilland Pharma is more than an online service. Subscribers are also assigned a political researcher from the DeHavilland team who will ensure the most up-to-date information is delivered by email or phone alert to them and customise reports to meet their specific needs.
