Delivery devices
Exhibiting jointly with its associates Gaplast and Ursatech, German company Aero Pump launched the Upside-down pump, which operates in either orientation.
New from Gaplast are two delivery devices. The first is an implant syringe that is designed for one-handed operation and is said to be painless for the patient. The syringe is inserted under the skin and then the implant is positioned in the syringe needle by means of a piston. When the syringe is withdrawn, the implant remains in the puncture-channel. The device is still a prototype and tools are manufactured.
The second new product is the Liquimod one-way valve suitable for use with squeeze-bottles and tubes. The valve can be used for preservative-free formulations, and a fixed dosage version is under development.
Ursatech showed two nasal sprays for use with preservative-free formulations. The Comod is an airless spray, whereas the 3K is not.
