Maxigas generates nitrogen from compressed air, enabling manufacturers to make their own nitrogen on site and eliminating the risk of shortages and ongoing costs such as refills or deliveries. An innovative and automatic regenerative feature means maintenance requirements are minimal, and because the system does not rely on external suppliers, hygiene in production areas and cleanrooms can be more easily controlled.

Modified Atmosphere Packaging using a suitable inert gas helps to prevent oxidative degradation of the active drug in pharmaceutical formulations, which can affect drug potency and shelf-life and even contribute to adverse side effects. Extended expiry dates mean that drugs can be stored longer, increasing their attractiveness to retailers and ensuring they reach end users in premium condition.

Nitrogen has various pharmaceutical applications in addition to packaging, including tank blanketing of head spaces, micronisation and purging of equipment.

domnick hunter also manufactures a range of laboratory gas generators that give a dependable supply of hydrogen, nitrogen, pure air and zero air.
