DPVC offers gentle handling of fragile products
UK company Pneumatic Conveying Systems (PCS) has been refining the concept of dense phase vacuum conveying (DPVC). The technique is most often associated with the transfer of large throughputs over long distances and, according to PCS, it has never been fully exploited. It offers the benefits of low power consumption for high tonnage throughput, practically no product segregation and minimal or no damage to fragile products.
DPVC is particularly suitable for applications such as emptying an FIBC, and transferring critical or fragile products, claims PCS, which has already installed six DPVC systems. The company has a fully equipped test centre where customers can witness DPVC trials on their products.
