Dr. William Haseltine becomes advisor to board of Codexis

Codexis has appointed genomics and biotechnology pioneer William A. Haseltine, Ph.D. as a special advisor to its Board of Directors.


Codexis has appointed genomics and biotechnology pioneer William A. Haseltine, Ph.D. as a special advisor to its Board of Directors.

Dr. Haseltine is chairman and ceo of Haseltine Associates and president of the William A. Haseltine Foundation for Medical Sciences and the Arts. He is a Professor at The Scripps Research Institute and is on the Board of Directors for the Institute for One World Health. In 1992 he founded Human Genome Sciences and served as chairman and ceo until October 2004. Overall he has founded seven biotechnology companies.

He holds an undergraduate degree in chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in biophysics from Harvard University. He did his post-graduate studies at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with David Baltimore, has published more than 250 scientific papers and written several books.
