Elga prepares to enter a new dimension
The Orion TTS is the latest addition to the Orion range
The Orion TTS (pictured) is the latest addition to ELGA Process Water's Orion range of packaged hot water sanitisable purified water plants and was shown in the UK for the first time.
A major new features of the TTS is the hot water sanitisable softeners for pretreatment of the feed water, included in response to demands from the pharma sector.
Another benefit is an improved touch-sensitive human/machine interface, together with a number of options in the software that can bolted on at low cost and automatic valve monitoring to ensure optimum flows. The units are prevalidated and have undergone fully documented Factory Acceptance Tests.
ELGA also offered potential customers a preview of its next major product. The Quattro - so called because it combines the four water treatment processes of softening, filtration, reverse osmosis and deionisation - is currently in the final stages of development trials and is due to be launched at Achema in September.
Quattro is an economical version of the Orion and operates on the same principle, although it is chemically rather than hot water sanitisable. It is being aimed at industrial applications such as cosmetics, non-critical pharmaceutical manufacturing, biotechnology, healthcare and electronics. It has a similar human/machine interface to the Orion, but is key-operated.
A range of optional and alternative treatment processes will be available, including a pharmaceutical option for USP/PH Eur Purified Water applications, which includes a UV disinfection unit, sanitary design of piping in contact with the product water and suitable validation packages. There will be four models in the Quattro range covering production rates from 500-3,000 litres/hour.
