Equipment under new PED pressure

Published: 17-May-2002

Under the terms of the EU's Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 97/23/EC (Category IV), all bursting disc products supplied after 29 May 2002 will need a CE mark to show that they have been subjected to a demanding conformity assessment by a notified body, authorised by the member state's national government. UK pressure-relief systems manufacturer Elfab has become one of the first companies to receive approval for CE marking of both metal and graphite bursting disc devices under the new directive.

Elfab is also able to provide full details of the PED, how it applies to individual installations and exceptions where the directive may not apply.
