EU gives emergency vaccine grant

The EC has announced a grant of e1.7 million to buy emergency vaccines to fight outbreaks of yellow fever in the west African countries Liberia and Guinea, with vaccinations being administered by charities Medecins Sans FrontiEres and Hopital Sans FrontiEres. In Guinea, by December 486 cases had been recorded and 187 people had died.
