EU signs trade deal
The European Union has signed a trade deal with Hungary and the Czech Republic, recognising the good practice carried out in both countries' pharmaceutical manufacturing and research sectors, and removing trade barriers for medical drugs exported from them to the EU. These Protocols to the European Agreements on Conformity Assessment allow manufacturers in the EU and the two eastern European countries to certify that their products meet local requirements prior to shipping. They are part of the process by which Hungary and the Czech Republic join the EU.
