The European Commission competition officials have raided the Denmark, Italy and Hungary offices of Danish drug manufacturer Lundbeck, to investigate whether it illegally exploited a dominant position on the market to delay or prevent generic copies of its medicines.
In a statement, the company said it 'has nothing to hide and gave the EU Commission representatives full access to all documents.'
Brussels is refusing to release further details about companies alleged to have colluded with Lundbeck in the affair. Its chief executive told a Danish newswire that the investigation concerns the anti-depressant drug ingredient citalopram. Lundbeck once had a patent on anti-depressant drug Cipramil, which contains citalopram.
