Filling the gap in a niche market

Published: 18-Apr-2002

Following an extensive r&d project, Adelphi Manufacturing, of Haywards Heath in the UK, is to launch a semi-automatic filling machine aimed at the pharmaceutical, cosmetics and toiletries markets. The Adelphi Centrair is pneumatically powered and can handle both liquids and creams with a fill accuracy of ±0.25%. Changeover can be achieved using a single tool and fittings are mainly tool-less.

To maintain hygienic operation, the machine's casing has been designed to eliminate flat surfaces wherever possible, to prevent the risk of contamination or spillage from items being placed on top. All contact parts are made from 316L grade stainless steel, PTFE or Viton. The pneumatics are lubricant-free and the hopper has triclover fittings for added hygiene. The Centrair will be available either as a bench-mounted unit or with a trolley.
