Fire was a blessing in disguise
Following a serious fire, the labs in the Faculty of Biomedical and Life Sciences based in Glasgow University's Bower Building have been refitted with state-of-the-art equipment. Although valuable research and many rare botanical specimens were lost, in some ways the fire was a blessing in disguise because it gave the Faculty an opportunity to redesign and optimise its lab space.
ELGA Process Water was chosen to provide a water purification system suitable for general laboratory purposes. The Purelab Prima water purification system uses a pre-treatment procedure to remove chlorine and gross particulate contamination, followed by reverse osmosis. It produces water with up to 98% rejection of ions, TOC levels of typically <1%, and a bacterial count of <5 cfu/mL.
