Malvern's Zetasizer Nano ZS was launched in June 2003 and combines the best technologies for the measurement of particle size, zeta potential and molecular weight of nano-sized particles.

It measures particle size from 0.6nm to 6µm of a wide range of samples, from the highly dilute through to concentrated suspensions and emulsions. Incorporating the world's first fully disposable cell for zeta potential measurement, the cell's compact design allows zeta potential measurement of samples as small as 0.75ml.

Current uses for the Nano ZS include DNA transfection; protein conformation and crystallisation studies.
