Telstar LyoQuest has an 8-litre condensation capacity

Telstar has unveiled LyoQuest, the latest in its line of laboratory freeze dryers, which has a condensation capacity of 8 litres and can carry out pre-freezing, primary drying and secondary drying processes.

The Barcelona, Spain-based firm says this is the only bench-top laboratory freeze dryer on the market that combines such a breadth of functionality into a single unit. It allows users to perform complete cycles on a range of sample containers (vials, trays, ampoules, and flasks) using the same piece of equipment.

LyoQuest allows users to create recipes comprising time, temperature and vacuum control owing to its integrated PLC control system. This easy-to-use device includes a touch-screen HMI with an intuitive menu and mimic diagram.

LyoLogger monitoring software enables connection of the unit to a PC, allowing data to be transferred to files for analysis using Microsoft Excel.

The software also makes it possible to view graphs showing the pressure, condenser temperature, and, if working with a chamber, product and tray temperature.

The LyoQuest’s ice condenser is made from AISI 316L stainless steel and includes an automatic defrosting function. Its design enables many product formats to be pre-frozen by the device, without the need for an additional freezer.
