G&A Healthcare Packaging, a leading provider of printed flexible packaging to the pharmaceutical industry, has opened a new, dedicated pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging facility.
Kent-based G&A is a UK subsidiary of Austrian packaging group Constantia, which recently opened a new Pharma-Centre at its Heyer manufacturing plant, south of Vienna.
G&A's advanced facility is dedicated to Constantia's growing interest in the specialist pharmaceutical and healthcare market.
It provides customers with access to a range of enhanced capabilities within a class 100,000 operational area, including a 4-colour rotogravure press with a two-side print fault detection system, dedicated slitting machinery and a new blister packaging line for customer and in-house trials and testing.
At the outset the facility will typically provide printed hard and soft tempered films and laminates but it is intended to further enhance the unit's capability to offer lacquering and laminating services in class 100,000 conditions by 2007.
"G&A's customers now have the added reassurance of the new Pharma Centre and its highly advanced facilities" said G&A's managing director, Steve Godwin. "The investment is further evidence of the group's ongoing commitment to the healthcare market and to the pharmaceutical sector in particular."
