Genesys, supplier to laboratories and the pharmaceutical industry, has purchased a Sessions of York RC30 self-adhesive labelling unit to use in the labelling of its plastic phials.
The RC30 is one of Sessions" most popular units, the company says, and is intended to handle small round items and difficult-to-handle products such as inhalers, phials and tubes. The system has recently undergone further development and has at its heart a laser etched datum plate that ensures maximum precision. Its safety features and small footprint make the PLC suitable for busy production environments.
An optional tray-to-tray feature for the handling of small products was specified in Genesys" order. With this optional specification, a device fitted to the out feed of the machine ejects the trays singly onto a catchment tray with a pneumatic cylinder.
"The RC30 proved to be the only machine that could meet our specific requirements - that is labelling an extremely small and challenging area on our phials," a spokesperson from Genesys said.
The system can be fitted with a programmable pharmacode reader and barcode verification system, and has capabilities for label registration.
