Gerresheimer has reported preliminary third-quarter 2026 revenue of €605m, an increase of 8% compared with the same period last year. Adjusted EBITDA was €103m, slightly below the €106m recorded in Q3 2025.
For the first nine months of the financial year, revenue was approximately €1.7bn, broadly in line with the previous year. However, adjusted EBITDA fell to €272m from €331m, with the company citing inventory reductions and weaker performance in its Tubular Glass Europe and Moulded Glass businesses.
The Containment & Delivery Systems division was the main growth driver, benefiting from higher demand for drug delivery devices. Nine-month revenue increased to €917m from €876m, while adjusted EBITDA rose to €211m from €194m. The division's third-quarter adjusted EBITDA margin improved to 24.5%, compared with 22.3% a year earlier.
Performance elsewhere was more mixed. Primary Injectable Solutions generated nine-month revenue of €335m, down from €360m, while adjusted EBITDA declined to €32m from €69m. However, the business showed signs of stabilisation in the third quarter, with revenue increasing to €123m from €114m year on year.
Moulded Glass recorded nine-month revenue of €479m, compared with €492m in 2025. Adjusted EBITDA fell to €52m from €91m, partly reflecting lower capacity utilisation following inventory reductions. Gerresheimer closed its Moulded Glass plant in Chicago Heights, US, in September as part of measures to improve performance.
The company expects a stronger fourth quarter, with further earnings improvement in line with its existing guidance.
Gerresheimer is also progressing the planned sale of its Primary Packaging Plastics (PPP) business, following the completion of the Centor sale in October. The PPP transaction is now expected to close in the first quarter of 2027.
CFO Wolf Lehmann said the third-quarter results and Centor disposal demonstrated progress in the company's transformation, with the next priorities being completion of the PPP sale and a comprehensive refinancing.
Final third-quarter and nine-month results are expected to be published in December 2026.
