Getting the measure of particles
Making their UK debut will be Malvern Instruments' PharmaVision 830 particle shape and size analyser, and the Malvern HPPS (High Performance Particle Sizer). Designed especially for pharmaceutical applications, the PharmaVision 830 can characterise particles as small as 0.5 µm and can analyse approximately 20,000 particles in under 15 minutes. It provides accurate particle size and shape data from direct sample measurements of powder blends and dry powders using automated imaging techniques.
The Malvern HPPS, featuring non-invasive backscatter (NIBS) technology, is a compact, robust and versatile particle size analyser that delivers particle size measurement at high sensitivity and high concentration over a wide size range (0.6nm to 6 µm). It is especially suited to the measurement of colloidal systems, proteins and macromolecules in solution.
The growing importance of on-line, real-time particle sizing is reflected in the Malvern Insitec/T, an addition to the Malvern Process Systems range. This highly robust industrial manufacture of all metal parts.
Also on show from the laboratory products range will be the Mastersizer 2000, shown with the new Autosampler and a range of sample dispersion units. Among the wide range of sample dispersion systems are the Hydro 2000 Micro Precision unit for small or precious samples and the Hydro 2000 S for larger volume dispersions.
