GHB faces close monitoring

The EU council of ministers has ordered that close monitoring should be carried out on the medicine GHB, which is being abused as a recreational drug. It has also asked Europol and the European Monitoring Centre on Drugs and Drug Addiction to collate information on consumption, seizures, trafficking and public health related problems, the role of organised crime in production and the use of the internet in distribution.
