Gland beats autoclave obstacles
The validation of pharmaceutical autoclaves can be time-consuming, as it is difficult to feed a large number of thermocouple wires through a single entry point into the chamber. The problem can be compounded by the difficulty in ensuring that chamber leakage is within regulatory requirements. The new TCEG gland from Thermal Detection has been designed to overcome these specific problems and offers a faster and more reliable method of installing multiple validation thermocouples.
In its standard form the gland utilises two medical grade silicone seals and can accept up to 18 thermocouples. However, with the addition of an extra seal the gland's capacity is doubled to 36 thermocouples.
Mounted via a tri-clamp flange, the gland body, screw clamp and quick release are in 316 stainless steel and the cap in CZ121 brass.
