High integrity storage of scarce samples

Published: 26-Sep-2006

Dutch company Micronic has introduced a new range of low volume screw top tubes providing laboratories with high integrity storage and easy retrieval of scarce samples down to -18oC.

The internal V-shape of each 0.5ml tube ensures the lowest possible dead volume and maximum sample recovery. Designed to fit 96 individual tubes into a standard Micronic Lobo rack, the new low profile 0.5ml tube range optimises use of valuable freezer storage space.

A novel 'single turn' screw cap mechanism makes accessing and securing samples a simple and rapid process. With a unique 2-dimensional code (Tracker Data Matrix or TraXis system) on the bottom of each tube, the new range provides an easy and unambiguous means of storing and identifying samples. A choice of six different colour screw caps allows quick visual determination of sample origin.

Manufactured in a modern class 7 cleanroom production facility, the tube range is certified RNase/DNase-free and non-toxic, according to the USP class VI test, making the tubes the ideal secure medium for storage of scarce liquid or solid biological samples, says Micronic.
