Hitachi and Takeda Pharmaceutical Co in Japan have established a joint venture, Hitachi Inspharma, to develop information support systems.


Hitachi and Takeda Pharmaceutical Co in Japan have established a joint venture, Hitachi Inspharma, to develop information support systems.

Hitachi, based in Tokyo, owns a 66% share and Takeda, located in Osaka, a 34% share in the company that will start operation on April 1, 2006. Its role is to develop and maintain Takeda's information systems. The company will also develop information system packages and applications specifically designed for the pharmaceutical industry, and is aiming for industry-wide expansion of that business in future. Hitachi sees this as one of its fastest growing business segments.
