Improved hydrogen purity for GC carrier gas applications

Published: 1-Mar-2006

The advantages of hydrogen over helium as a carrier gas include increased speed of analysis, increased separation efficiency and increased sensitivity in some instances. The rising cost of non-renewable helium, the improved reliability of gas generators and the higher purity of gas produced by hydrogen generators makes a switch in laboratory hydrogen supply from cylinders to a hydrogen gas generator even more attractive, says domnick hunter.

The company will launch the latest addition to its range of hydrogen generators at Pittcon in March. The new range of generators will offer higher gas purity and reduced maintenance requirements, and will be suitable for both carrier gas and combustion detector fuel gas applications.

The domnick hunter range of hydrogen generators can be easily and conveniently stacked on the new domnick hunter zero air generator to provide a space-saving all-in-one GC-FID solution.
