Peco Controls has developed a pager that allows a line operator the freedom to move around the factory, but remain in control of the line. The system works by counting items made on the operator's line and transmitting the data to a base station. This manipulates the data to the operator's requirements and transmits it to the personal display.

The display shows the operator several things, including the line identity, the number of units made in the batch so far, and the number of units required to complete the batch.
