Infosys signs five-year maintenance deal with AstraZeneca

Infosys Technologies has won a five-year, multi-million dollar contract to supply application maintenance services to AstraZeneca.

Under the agreement, Infosys will supply services to the pharmaceutical company's global operations in areas such as manufacturing, supply chain, finance, human resources and other corporate functions. The deal is part of AstraZeneca's aim to accelerate innovation and bring products to market faster.

AstraZeneca said it had chosen Infosys because of its understanding of the rapidly shifting dynamics in the pharmaceutical industry.

Global chief information officer Richard Williams added: "The combination of Infosys" outsourcing expertise, technology leadership and proven record in rationalising and standardising business process were all contributing factors to our decision. We have confidence in Infosys" ability to deliver a flexible operating model to address our changing business needs more efficiently."
