Intellution introduces iHistorian
Intellution, a business of Emerson Process Management, has launched iHistorian, a new plant-wide historian application. iHistorian works by collecting, aggregating, retaining and presenting data from multiple points throughout an entire manufacturing plant or production process.
'Customers within every vertical market have expressed the need to acquire and retain data from virtually every aspect of the manufacturing and production process,' said Robert Yeager, president of Intellution.
'iHistorian delivers this functionality in a critical yet cost-effective way, and serves as a foundation for a diverse array of applications to apply business context to production data.'
Plant-wide historians are playing an increasingly important role in the evolution of industrial automation, acting as a central data repository for all aspects of production. Its introduction adds to Intellution's ongoing 21 CFR Part 11 strategy, which was initiated to support the record keeping and electronic signature requirements of those businesses that are regulated by the US-Food and Drug Aadministration.
