Invensys APV, a supplier of process equipment, engineering and automation control to the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, is demonstrating high-profile technologies for the pharmaceutical, chemical and biotechnology industries at Achema 2003. The theme on the APV stand is "thinking ahead" in order to achieve the perfect match between innovative technology and customer needs in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
Highlighted on the stand are latest evaporation and drying technologies from APV Anhydro, who recently announced its investment in a brand-new 2,000 square metre test center at the company headquarters near Copenhagen, Denmark. Scheduled for completion during 2004, the new test centre will feature the very latest in innovative process technology.
'Chemical and pharmaceutical companies have to comply with strict GMP standards and stringent demands for quality and consistency in the end-product,' says Managing Director of Anhydro, Niels Pedersen. 'This means that customers often ask us to develop a customised solution based on precisely defined needs. The new test center will enable us to maintain a leading position in the industry with test facilities that can be reliably upgraded to full production levels.'
High-profile laboratory technologies
Further information about what the new test centre has to offer will be provided at Achema. Expert sales staff will be available to discuss ways of identifying innovative solutions for new products.
Visitors can also gain first-hand experience of three core technologies including the Anhydro Pilot Spin Flash Dryer SFD-47 together with the Invensys Intelligent Integrator process control unit, and APV laboratory homogenisers.
The Anhydro pilot Spin Flash Dryer, type SFD 47, is based on a unique drying concept developed and patented by Anhydro. This unit is specially designed for small-scale, continuous production and test work.
As a standardised unit, the Spin Flash dryer is complete with an Invensys Integrator control system, safety system, cabling and wiring, packing and full documentation. It is easily installed and ready for use.
Invensys Intelligent Integrator
The Invensys Intelligent Integrator process control system enables pre-programming of production parameters via the operator touch screen. The centralised, fully intelligent automation control system delivers data collection and control of recipes from the raw material stage through to finished production.
APV-1000 and APV-2000 laboratory homogenisers
APV's laboratory homogenisers are handy and easy to operate. They deliver fully reproducible results for micro-emulsions, suspensions, emulsions and cell disruption that can be applied to full-scale production. They are used to help improve existing products or to develop new ones.
APV Steridose
Our APV expert in the pharmaceutical and life science industries will be available to share his in-depth experience in problem-solving in a variety of industries. The Sterivalve and the Sterimixer products will be on display, demonstrating how they can contribute to optimising processes.
'These products and many others provide our customers in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries with a wide range of innovative technologies on which to base their current and future production processes,' said Niels Pedersen. 'But technology is not enough on its own. Our customers know that to achieve perfection they have to think ahead and draw on the vast resources of knowledge and expertise within Anhydro.'
