The Italian pharmaceutical equipment company Dott Bonapace has launched a new automatic checkweigher for capsules and tablets. The new machine will be available exclusively from UK-based pharmaceutical supplier Isopak.


The Italian pharmaceutical equipment company Dott Bonapace has launched a new automatic checkweigher for capsules and tablets. The new machine will be available exclusively from UK-based pharmaceutical supplier Isopak.

The CW-30 checkweigher will enable tablet manufacturers to provide even higher quality control and could even prevent patients from receiving the wrong dose, Isopak claims.

Tablets and capsules are fed through a stainless steel hopper and two chutes (one for accepted products and the other rejected) determine their destination. The machine can operate as a stand-alone unit or can be interfaced with other Dott Bonapace equipment.

The operator can set a variety of parameters via the console and the unit is fully PLC controlled, weighing 3,000 10-120mg capsules or tablets per hour.

The machine is suitable for research laboratories, batch production and clinical trials.
