Bayer has announced that it will slash 950 jobs at its Bayer Schering Pharma's Berlin operations.


Bayer has announced that it will slash 950 jobs at its Bayer Schering Pharma's Berlin operations.

The move is part of the global company's plan to achieve a synergy potential of Euro 700m per year from 2009.

Bayer said that out of the total 950 employees, 350 staff will take early retirement or other similar redundancy packages.

It also said it is confident that 'socially acceptable' solutions can be found for the remaining 600 workers, and will offer 250 of them other positions at Bayer.
