Research chemicals company Lancaster Synthesis has signed its first distribution agreement in China.
The China National Medicine Group Shanghai Chemical Reagent Company, known as SRC, will be responsible for supporting Lancaster's 14,000 product range in the country. SRC is one of the region's biggest chemical distribution companies with major operations in Beijing and Shanghai and is part of the Sinopharm Group.
'This is a major step forward for Lancaster and responds to the growing demand for more sophisticated and novel molecules from Chinese research chemists,' said Iain Cooke, Lancaster sales and marketing director: 'The relationship will also help us strengthen links with academic and industrial organisations who have interesting new molecules to offer the rest of the world.'
Lancaster Synthesis has five regional operations that work with 20 distributors around the world. It was one of the first catalogue companies to offer a full range of products in Russia and its Asian network already includes distributors in India, Japan, Korea, Singapore and Taiwan.
