LIMS with advanced web functionality

Compex IT Plant Solutions, of Belgium, has released the newest version of its Unilab 4i V4.3 LIMS. The new version has an improved user interface, more advanced web functionality, various other product enhancements and an updated list of supported hardware.

During a recent meeting, some 150 Unilab 4i users confirmed that an intuitive user interface is one of the key advantages of the Unilab 4i LIMS.

For version 4.3, Compex took this principle even further by providing one integrated work environment which not only gives lab users access to all authorised lab tasks, e.g. creation of new requests, but also allows users to tailor their work environment to match their needs to a 'my tasks' concept. At the same time, all screens, buttons and menus are given a look and feel conforming to Windows XP.

Following its first web successes at various locations, version 4.3 introduces more web functionality focusing on remote users. Production operators, customer service, sales and marketing can submit their samples to the laboratory via the Internet. Suppliers and co-manufacturers can submit samples and analysis results directly into Unilab 4i via a web browser. This additional web functionality not only offers further improved communication between different parties, it also allows the laboratory to provide a better interaction and service to its remote users who, from their side, take over part of the administrative work of the laboratory.
