A man from Milton Keynes, UK, has been sentenced by a UK court to 100 hours community service for the illegal sale of unlicensed medicines on the internet.
The man had pleaded guilty to the sale and supply of Kamagra tablets, a pill used to treat erectile dysfunction in men, which is unlicensed in the UK.
In July 2004, enforcement officers had visited a company and seized boxes of tablets. The man later admitted to selling drugs on eBay that he had acquired through a contact in India.
Danny Lee-Frost, head of medicines enforcement at the MHRA said: 'The successful outcome of this case clearly demonstrates that selling unlicensed medicines via the internet is a punishable offence.'
He also warned the public about the danger of buying unlicensed medicines.
