Millipore in agreement to acquire NovAseptic

Millipore has agreed to acquire all the shares of NovAseptic for approximately SEK720m (US$91m). Based in Gothenburg, Sweden, NovAseptic provides solutions for aseptic processing applications in biotech and pharmaceutical manufacturing operations. The company's products include a disposable sampling system (NovaSeptum) and a range of high-performance mixers, valves and connectors.

The company's other aseptic processing components include high-performance mixers and valves, optimally designed for performance and reliability in stringent drug production environments. It is expected to generate sales of around $35m in the 12 months following the closing of the transaction.

'NovAseptic's products and customer relationships are a strong strategic fit with Millipore's Bioprocess Division,' said Martin Madaus, chairman, ceo and president, Millipore. 'The acquisition will also enhance our applications expertise in the area of aseptic processing.'
