Millipore releases new purification system

US-based Millipore has launched its Cogent M Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) system, a manual bench top system designed for the purification of biopharmaceutical products up to 10 litres.

The system is said to be ideally suited for process development optimisation and scaling studies of vaccines, gene therapy, clotting factors and recombinant protein products.

To emulate full-scale production systems, the TFF incorporates a diaphragm pump, rather than the typical peristaltic pump, enabling biopharmaceutical customers to easily conduct scale-down studies. In addition, the system is completely drainable and designed for clean-in-place (CIP).
