Mocon launches AB Plus automatic tablet balance

Mocon has launched the AB Plus automatic balance, an improved system for weighing capsules, tablets and small parts automatically without the need for an operator. Ideal for clinical batch and initial press start-up sorting, the AB Plus offers high throughput speed alongside precise repeatability, and can be used with any Windows 200 or XP compatible computer, with statistics suitable for record keeping or GMP purposes.

Its modular design allows the user to start with a master and add up to nine satellite-sorting stations. With the available sorter option and extra-large input hopper, it is even possible to run overnight, and the added throughput provides the ability to sort entire product batches. Speeds range from 45 per minute for one unit to 450 per minute for one master plus nine satellites. The sorter offers 'jar free' operating and ease of running into drums without table modification all at low cost, automatically separating out-of-weight tolerance product (rejects) from acceptable product. For sorting of multiple products, a multi-sampler option permits up to ten 'source booths' to be monitored simultaneously throughout the batch run.
