New EDI module sanitised by hot water
The Septron series of electrodeionization (EDI) modules from Christ Water Technology Group has been supplemented with a module for high flow rates which can be sanitised with hot water.
The Septron series of electrodeionization (EDI) modules from Christ Water Technology Group has been supplemented with a module for high flow rates which can be sanitised with hot water.
The SMH 3000 operates at an output of 2,500- 3,300 litres/hr with a pressure loss of 1.5-2.5 bar. It can be sanitised at a temperature of more than 80°C in just 30min.
Compared with conventional EDI modules the SMH 3000 permits a higher sanitisation flow rate of up to 70% of the ultra-pure water output with a pressure drop of 1 bar. The resulting high flow rates ensure a more uniform temperature distribution and efficient deactivation of germs. In normal operating mode the design also ensures a continuous, turbulent flow, thus preventing microbiological growth.
With conductivity values of <0.1µs/cm, TOC values of <50 ppb and the complete removal of CO2 and SiO2, the generated ultra-pure water easily complies with the requirements of the American and European Pharmacopoeia.
