A leading pharmaceutical manufacturing company is increasing its capacity to produce anticounterfeit, tamper-evident packs of pain relief tablets with the commissioning of a fifth specialist labelling machine - the CTE350 - from UK-based Newman Labelling Systems.
The CTE350 is in operation at the global giant's manufacturing plant in Mexico, as part of the company's latest investment in the war against counterfeit drugs.
Designed specifically for the pharmaceutical industry, Newman's compact, fully automatic CTE350 can apply a wide range of self-adhesive tamper-evident, anticounterfeit and hologram labels at speeds of up to 350 cartons a minute. At just 1.3m long the CTE350 is designed to integrate into lines where space is at a premium. Features include a positive accept security system and in-process control.
"This particular machine is designed to handle a range of different cartons without the need for change parts. It can also operate with a flood or random feed," said Newman sales director Ian Hillaby.
Newman machines are fully complaint with FDA GMP requirements and can be supplied with validation completed up to PQ.
