Dry pumps now cover the full vacuum spectrum

Edwards, a leading manufacturer of sophisticated vacuum products and abatement systems and a global provider of related value-added services, is highlighting its extended range of scientific pumps at Analytica in Munich, Germany, 1- 4 April 2014.

Analytica is one of the leading international fairs for laboratory technology and pioneering biotechnology, and visitors to the Edwards booth – #526 in hall B1 – will be able to see a wide range of vacuum equipment suitable for R&D and scientific markets, and chat with experts from Edwards about their applications. Since the acquisition of Gamma Vacuum in 2013, Edwards can offer the complete range of pumping solutions from atmosphere down to ultra-high vacuum (UHV). Gamma Vacuum manufactures UHV pumps, with a very strong reputation for ion and titanium sublimation pumps.

'We are delighted to be attending Analytica 2014. With more than thirty years of experience in scientific applications, Edwards has a deep understanding of the role that vacuum plays at every step,' said Ian Olsen, Global Market Sector Manager, Scientific, at Edwards. 'This experience, coupled with innovative technologies and collaborative engineering, enables Edwards to offer an extended range of vacuum solutions that reduce cost while enhancing performance.'

On display at the Edwards booth is an operational nXDS dry scroll pump, demonstrating the ultimate vacuum of the pump. Its advanced scroll form and tip seal technologies deliver exceptional vacuum performance in scientific, laboratory and R&D applications. It features the latest in tip seal technology, giving significantly longer life between tip seal changes, and is hermetically sealed for a lubricant-free vacuum.

Edwards’ award winning nEXT turbomolecular pump, designed to provide exceptional high vacuum performance in a compact size, is on display. The modular design of the nEXT allows for rapid customisation of the pump to meet specific customer requirements. It provides reliable performance with easy end user serviceability, for low cost of ownership.

The addition of Gamma to Edwards’ portfolio means the full vacuum spectrum can now be covered. A selection of Gamma ion pumps and controllers is available to view on the booth this year. Gamma’s pumps offer class leading performance and innovation, and are manufactured to exacting standards of craftsmanship and cleanliness.

Operational at the booth this year is the T-Station 75, an entry-level turbopumping station and the smallest in Edwards’ range of turbopumping stations. It provides reliable high performance and is an excellent ‘plug and play’ solution for those wanting to achieve high vacuum quickly and simply. It combines the EXT75DX turbopump with a choice of either an oil sealed or dry backing pump, to meet specific needs.
