New head of Quality Assurance at Nova

UK-based contract manufacturer Nova Laboratories has appointed Richard Limb Head of Quality Assurance, replacing Neil Housley

Richard Limb joins from Pfizer where he was Head of Quality for the Aseptic Services Division and brings over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare industry gained in various development and quality based roles.

Richard Limb said: “The challenge ahead is to support Nova’s growth and expansion plans whilst simultaneously meeting the ever-increasing regulatory demands and expectations in the current market place.

“This challenge is increased significantly by the breadth and depth of Nova’s portfolio; licensed and unlicensed pharmaceuticals, clinical trial manufacture, live virus and biologics, medical devices and specialised, niche technology such as aseptic spray drying and Hydris/Vitris. Coupled with the diversity of the Nova client base and regulatory bodies, then the multiple demands start to become clearer.”

“The Head of Quality Assurance is a significant role within Nova and has influence across the business”, said Head of Group Finance Roger Staniforth.

“As part of the senior management team, Richard’s role also has to consider the overall needs of the business. He is not in post purely to provide technical excellence and improve our QA systems; these efforts need to be aligned to the strategic direction of the Nova group and support the overall commercial effort whilst ensuring regulatory compliance and best practice across the business units,” continued Roger.

Lumb also brings with him experience from his time as a project section leader at 3M Healthcare covering all areas of drug development and commercialisation and significant "quality on the floor" support to manufacturing across a number of roles and organisations.
