Sepacore makes flash chromatography simple

Suitable for the isolation of complex mixtures

The Buchi Sepacore flash chromatography system addresses most requirements for the purification of organic compounds. Whether a crude synthesis mixture or a natural product extract has to be purified, a suitable system configuration provides optimum performance, the German laboratory equipment supplier said.

The proprietary 3-piston pump offers a flow rate range up to 250ml/min and features a maximum pressure of 50 bar.

‘These capabilities make the Sepacore an ideal solution for the isolation of complex mixtures with broad polarity range, using normal or reversed phase columns, even with high resolution packing material,’ the company said.

The Sepacore also allows a straightforward purification scale-up from 1mg to 100g of sample material in a single run.

The system modularity allows users to optimise the configuration according to the application: isocratic or gradient, with or without detection and fraction collection, manual or fully automated computer control.

Buchi also offers a range of flash chromatography columns. The proprietary disposable cartridges are available either pre-packed or empty for convenient packing with any flash silica gel material. The patented Cartridger allows the production of high performance cartridges, just when needed, avoiding storage.

A wide range of glass columns with a diameter up to 100mm is also available to provide complete visibility of the separation process.
