German firm Werum IT Solutions is expanding its integrating role in packaging serialisation and aggregation and is extending its independent PAS-X Track & Trace solution by a connection to OCS Checkweighers' equipment. Thus, PAS-X Track & Trace software not only provides an adapter to OCS, but also to all leading line controllers such as those supplied by Antares Vision, Laetus, Optel Vision, Seidenader Maschinenbau, Systech, and Uhlmann.

With PAS-X Track & Trace Werum offers a solution to help the pharmaceutical industry to comply with anti-counterfeiting requirements for medicines. It provides serialisation and aggregation functionality for packaging processes and integrates the Enterprise Resource Planning and Global Repository with shop floor packaging equipment and line controllers. In contrast to the multi-line managers of the equipment suppliers, PAS-X Track & Trace comprises a database to store all serialisation data so that a connection to a global external repository is not required. This approach enables serialisation tree management in the entire manufacturing area, including repackaging and rework.
