NIRAward awaits submissions

BÜCHI Labortechnik, of Flawil, Switzerland, is seeking submissions for the BÜCHI NIRAward 2006. The award, which offers a $2,000 prize, recognises outstanding contributions in the field of NIR (near-infrared) spectroscopy by scientists under the age of 35.
The award began in 2001 and has previously been bestowed upon Yukihiro Ozaki, Jian-Hui Jiang und Roumiana Tsenkova from Kwansei-Gakuin University in Kobe, Japan, for their illustration of a special chemometric technique that characterised the health of cows; and a UK-based research team consisiting of Pfizer employees along with Roger Jee and Anthony Moffat from the School of Pharmacy, University of London, who used FT-NIR and Raman Microscopy to visualise pharmaceutical formulations.
