In Optical OEM projects Ocean Optics is seen as an active partner for it's customers. To serve them even better, Ocean Optics, the industry leader in miniature photonics, has formed a dedicated OEM engineering group. This group provides expert support to optimize and expedite integrating optical components in systems of both new and established OEM customers. These services are extended to all OEM's whether they contract directly with Ocean Optics, or purchase through local distribution channels.
The OEM team brings together expertise across disciplines, including optical expertise; electrical engineering; mechanical engineering; and software development. In the last 15 years Ocean Optics has developed an extensive experience in optical design and knowhow of applications in industries such as health care, environment, agriculture & food, chemistry and biotechnology.
The company's early involvement and vertically integrated product line enables the OEM team to offer a wide range of solutions, from components such as custom fibres and light sources, to spectrometers and complete sub-systems. This has proven very time- and cost-effective for OEM's requiring a fast track solution.
Ocean Optics provides integrated manufacturing, inventory control of customer owned material, lean manufacturing practices such as Kanban releases for JIT shipment, and is ISO 9001:2008 certified. The company currently ships close to 20,000 spectrometers per year with the capacity to more than double that amount.
In Europe, we have a dedicated OEM team with application engineers in the Netherlands, Germany, UK and France to help OEM customers locally. In our European full-service application lab we are able to test customer samples or configurations together with our OEM customers.
