Package allows camera networking

The growth of Profibus DP for process control has led to the development of a software package to allow the Simatic VS710 intelligent imaging camera to network using the fieldbus standard.

The Simatic VS710 includes an onboard computer, and the release of ProVision V2.0 from Siemens Automation and Drives enables parameters such as set points and limit values to be transferred on-line. The software also allows operators to configure the camera direct from a PC or other programming device.
