Parallel synthesis with Mettler's MultiMax

Published: 27-Sep-2001

The MultiMax is a new automated multiple reactor system from Mettler Toledo.

The system allows parallel synthesis to be conducted under near-normal process conditions and bridges the gap between the automated synthesisers used in combinatorial chemistry and automatic laboratory reactors.

MulitMax is a modular reactor block that can be equipped with up to four 50ml glass reactors and the same number of dispenser boxes for the individual dosing of reagents. The sytem operates from -50°C to 180°C. And as well as a temperature sensor, each reactor can be equipped with additional sensors or accessories, such as a reflux cooler. The dispenser boxes can dose up to four different reagents.

MultiMax is controlled by a Windows NT-based software package that allows each reaction vessel to be programmed with individual parameters. Up to four reactor boxes can be controlled by one PC.
