Charities, clubs and associations across Cornwall have benefited from over £10,000 in donations from the work of a volunteer project run by South West pharmaceutical consultancy TRAC Services.

The project, which was launched less than two years ago, enables volunteers across Cornwall, to raise funds for their specified charity or group in return for just 30 minutes of their own time to answer a few questions on patient information leaflets that come with medicines.

A total of £13,424 has been donated to date, with the majority going to local clubs and charities.

"Our volunteers have found it a very simple and effective way to raise vital funds for their cause," said TRAC director Sarah Trethowan. "The benefit to us is that by taking part, the volunteers are also helping to improve the way pharmaceutical companies produce information leaflets, making them clearer and easier to understand. The feedback we receive during these sessions is invaluable," said Trethowan.
